history
Studio Q Furniture is a leading contract furniture manufacturer located in Hickory, North Carolina, manufacturing corporate, healthcare, hospitality and educational furniture.
Studio Q Furniture was founded as Quaker Furniture in April 1966 by Clyde L. Lail. Throughout the four decades that have followed, the company has continued to expand and diversify its product line, upgrade its technology and add employees. A new facility was built during these years and then expanded several times as the company grew to its present size of 100,000 sq. ft. and 84 employees.
In June 2007, after much consideration, it was decided that the company would be renamed from Quaker Furniture to Studio Q Furniture. "Studio" to represent craftsmanship and the creative new direction and energy of the company. "Q" to honor the company's heritage and long standing reputation for quality and service.
Today, beginning its fifth decade of manufacturing, the newly named Studio Q Furniture proudly continues under the same family ownership and management. Three generations of the Lail family are leading this successful company, making sure that fine quality and expert craftsmanship go into every piece of furniture produced. After all, it is their family's heritage and reputation that is now synonymous with the company itself.
